THE ADC OF ATIKU’S AERP 2027

From Subsidising Consumption to Redesigning the Economics of Production The debate around Atiku Economic Recovery Plan (AERP) should begin with a simple proposition: AERP is not merely another subsidy scheme. It is an attempt to redesign the economics of production in Nigeria. That distinction is fundamental. For decades, Nigeria has approached economic intervention largely through...

TINUBU’S 2027 CAMPAIGN COUNCIL: A POLITICAL REHABILITATION CENTRE FOR THE TAINTED AND A DECONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC SERVICE NEUTRALITY

There is something profoundly disturbing about the composition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council. At first glance, it is simply an electoral machine: 286 names, dozens of directorates, zonal coordinators, ministers, governors, legislators, technocrats, former office holders and political operatives assembled to prosecute the President’s re-election campaign. Aare Amerijoye DOT.B Every nation is entitled to know the true history of the man who holds its highest office. Not the airbrushed hagiography sold by an army of paid propagandists, but the documented record, the court files, the sworn depositions, the figures that do not lie. When that record is assembled and laid bare,...

SUBSIDY IS NOT RETROGRESSION: A REBUTTAL TO THE PRESIDENCY’S ECONOMIC ARGUMENT AGAINST ATIKU ABUBAKAR.

The Presidency’s declaration that Atiku Abubakar’s proposal to restore petrol subsidy is “retrogressive” and “fiscally unsustainable” may sound authoritative, but political authority does not automatically make an economic argument correct. If the Presidency truly believes Atiku’s proposal would damage Nigeria’s economy, then Nigerians deserve something more substantial than adjectives. They deserve the figures, the projections,...
