NO EXCUSE FOR POLITICAL VIOLENCE: JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED FOR MC PORKUPYNE.

Senator Ehigie Uzamere

I unequivocally condemn the barbaric attack on Daniel Osagie Idedia, popularly known as MC Porkupyne. This reprehensible act of violence is an assault on human dignity, democratic values, and the fundamental right of every citizen to live without fear of political intimidation.

Let me be clear: THERE MUST BE JUSTICE.

Politics is a contest of ideas, not a licence for violence. Political differences should be settled through dialogue, debate, and the ballot box. Not through brutality, intimidation, or physical attacks. No political ambition is worth a human life, and no disagreement can ever justify such barbaric conduct.

I call on the relevant security agencies to launch an immediate, thorough, and impartial investigation into this attack, identify all those responsible, and ensure that they face the full weight of the law. Anyone who planned, sponsored, facilitated, or carried out this act must be held accountable in accordance with the law. There must be no sacred cows, no political protection, and no attempt to sweep this matter under the carpet.

Justice must not be selective. It must not depend on political affiliation, personal connections, or the influence of those involved. Every Nigerian deserves equal protection under the law, regardless of political beliefs or social standing.

I also call on political leaders to condemn this act unequivocally and demonstrate, through their words and actions, that political violence has no place in a democratic society. Silence in the face of such brutality only emboldens those who believe they can act with impunity.

We cannot continue to preach democracy while tolerating the barbarism that seeks to destroy it. We cannot claim to uphold the rule of law while allowing perpetrators of political violence to escape accountability.

My solidarity is with Daniel Osagie Idedia, MC Porkupyne. He deserves justice, and the public deserves answers.
Let this incident be thoroughly investigated. Let those responsible be held accountable. Let the rule of law prevail.

JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW. POLITICAL VIOLENCE MUST HAVE NO PLACE IN OUR DEMOCRACY.
