Agbonayinma did not go to Arise Television to spew innuendos against Atiku today. He went out challenging Atiku over a matter that died in 2006, a matter Atiku walked out of clean, and he expected the street to clap.
The street had other plans. It saw him coming, it knew what he was carrying, and it answered him in one voice. Shame. Shame. Shame. Sung in full harmony, free of charge, by the very people he assumed were asleep.
Then there is the case itself. He drags it about like a trophy, forgetting that it is a corpse. No head, no body, no legs. He is chasing Atiku with an empty file and expecting a charged populace to tremble.
Somebody should tell him plainly. Atiku is not hiding. He is available and he is ready. If there is a case, let it come. Let it come with all its documents and all its sponsors, because the day it opens is the day the conspiracy of 2006 opens with it.
They tried this before. Same machinery, same allegations, same borrowed courage. They could not proceed. They went to the court of law and the court of law sent them home. Every man who sat in that room knows how it ended.
Nothing has changed except the year.
And that is the lesson for 2027. If you use the eyes of 2023 to look at Atiku, the spirit will take your clothes off you in the open market. You will stand there bare, wondering where the crowd went, while the chant follows you down the road. Shame and shame.
Agbonayinma should get used to the sound. The street has found its voice, and it is not calling his name kindly.
